8/9/2012
The Durham (NC) Herald Sun (6/20, Platt) reports that, on Tuesday, Frank Reed, "a Wake County teacher working this summer as an educator at Morehead Planetarium and Science Center in Chapel Hill," North Carolina "stood before a classroom at John W. Neal Middle School with about 18 students from public elementary schools throughout the region for a Minds On! summer science camp session." Reed "explained that blood consists of four primary ingredients: Plasma, white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets. The three-hour session, called 'The Ick Factor,' was part of a summer program that finds Morehead and Time Warner Cable working together to encourage students to pursue education and careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics."
